Located on the North and South Carolina border, Carowinds is an amusement park that truly has something for everyone. For roller coaster lovers, Carowinds is home to the tallest, fastest, and longest giga coaster in North America. For those who have small kids, there is an entire half of the park designated to kids rides. If you want to spend the last weekend of the summer in the water, they have a large water park that is included with regular admission. If you're looking for a full day activity, we highly recommend spending a day at Carowinds!

The US National Whitewater Center sits on 1,300 acres and offers 30 outdoor recreational activities including whitewater rafting/kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, wildwoods for kids, ziplines and ropes courses. You can also grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants while enjoying live music and watching kayakers come down the rapids. If you'd like to spend time outside, enjoying the lingering warm weather of summer, this is the place for you!

Both Forrest and Kaitlyn consider Sweetwater to be their favourite dinner spot in town! If you're looking for a place to grab some food, this would be their recommendation. Forrest always says that Sweetwater consistently has some of the best burgers he's ever had.. and if you know him, he's quite the burger connoisseur!

Going to the dirt track races is an experience that's difficult to put into words. If you want to experience what can only be described as a deep southern backwoods NASCAR, then this is for you. Races take place every Friday night, during which you can put your eardrums on the line to watch a car or two catch on fire and/or crash while racing on a 63-year-old dirt track. Admission is $15 per person and kids 11 & under get in for free!

For those who are interested in actual NASCAR racing, this is the place for you! Charlotte Motor Speedway is home to two premier NASCAR races, the Coca-Cola 600 and the Bank of America ROVAL 400. Take a tour of the track, catch one of their many events, or even drive a NASCAR racecar on the track!
